The Three Voices in Supervision model is based on the work of the late Jonathan Chambers, an accomplished and well-loved pastoral supervisor. Drawing on material developed  by Tinden Edwards, the model takes into account the small ego voice, the rational voice and the voice of spiritual depths, mystery and insight.

Listening to three voices in supervision invites supervisors to foster a contemplative heart and ask  “Which voice are you listening to?” as someone shares their story. Jonathan recorded a demonstration and explanation of the model before he died as a legacy. Kate Beer has developed the model further as an embodied modality which has been promoted by Richard Rohr.

This workshop will be led by Joan Wright Howie and Marcel Koper who both worked extensively with Jonathan. Join on zoom across two Tuesday late afternoons sessions. You’ll be introduced to the model and have space to practice using the tools you learn in small groups.

Following the two sessions, participants will be invited to join follow-up group supervision groups to further practice and incorporate the model.

Fostering interior freedom is at the heart of Joan’s supervision practice. She seeks to provide hospitality to those she encounters in supervision to facilitate safe reflexive space to explore the dynamics of work contexts. Joan welcomes creative expression, dream work, focusing and embodied awareness in her accompaniment work. In the midst of family life, Joan loves walking on the beach and tending her garden.
